One crime rate that is not going down: child sex crimes. A recent report by Stats Canada crime report found that child porn increased 36% in one year, and all aggravated sexual assaults increased by 56%. In Ontario alone, 10,000 cases have been investigated since 2006 and more than 3,600 charges have been laid against 1,219 people for internet sex crimes. For every photo there is a victim, for every download there is a crime against a child.

Weyburn Man Going To Jail For Child Pornography

A child pornography story that hits close to home.

A 56 year old Weyburn man, Robin Moen, plead guilty yesterday and was sentenced for making child pornography available to the public.

The sentence comes after a 2009 investigation from the Integrated Internet Child Exploitation Unit in Saskatchewan.

Moen was sentenced to 2 years in a federal penitentiary, 3 years probation, life time registration the sex offender registry, a DNA order, and a 20 year ban from any playground or any place where children may be.

He was also ordered to forfeit all of his computers and electronic devices.
