One crime rate that is not going down: child sex crimes. A recent report by Stats Canada crime report found that child porn increased 36% in one year, and all aggravated sexual assaults increased by 56%. In Ontario alone, 10,000 cases have been investigated since 2006 and more than 3,600 charges have been laid against 1,219 people for internet sex crimes. For every photo there is a victim, for every download there is a crime against a child.

Air cadets commander guilty of sexual interference

Former Air Cadets Cmdr. John Rollins Hardwick was found guilty of sexual interference with a person under the age of 14.

Hardwick was charged with two counts of sexual interference, two counts of sexual exploitation of a young person, and two counts of sexual assault in January of 2010.

The charges of sexual assault were stayed by the court and the charges of sexual exploitation were dropped.

Hardwick was charged with two counts of everything because there were two different incidents against the same female.

Hardwick was suspended from his role in the Air Cadets when the charges were laid in January.

Hardwick is scheduled to be sentenced on March 9 in Battleford.
