A "predatory pedofile" released from prison Tuesday after completing a 10-year sentence for sexually assaulting young boys and girls has been placed under a list of strict conditions.
Wayne Joseph Croft, 60, is to reside at by an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

Described in court documents as someone who has shown "a complete lack of empathy for his victims," who ranged in ages from two to 16, Croft is still rated as having a "very high" risk to re-offend, despite having undergone a High Intensity Sex Offender and Maintenance Intervention program while in prison.

"It is felt that Wayne Joseph Croft is a predatory pedophile who is attracted to young children (and whom) possesses a general risk to all children," states the document, prepared by an RCMP officer.
Croft, who was convicted of reigning terror on his young victims over a 23-year period, is felt to have a general lack of motivation to change his deviant behaviour.

During an appearance in provincial court yesterday, Croft was essentially placed under community peace bond during which he must report weekly to Enfield RCMP, notify the court and RCMP of any change of address or job, keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not possess any weapons and have no contact with anyone under 16.

Croft must also stay away from schools, playgrounds, public pools, daycares or any area where children gather; must stay away from lands owned by the Indian Brook First Nation and not possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs, including any drugs that provide or enhance sexual stimulation.

The sexual predator was also ordered to return to court Nov. 27 after seeking a mental health assessment.

Croft is described as having grey-brown hair, hazel eyes, a moustache and glasses. He is five-foot-five and weighs about 160 pounds.
