TABER, Alta. - A former chair of the police commission in southern Alberta has been sentenced for child pornography related offences.
Curtis David Paradee of Taber will spend 90 days in jail, to be served on weekends, after he pleaded guilty to accessing child pornography.
Judge Derek Redman also gave 43-year-old Paradee an 18 month conditional sentence for child luring followed by two years probation.
Paradee admitted to posing as a 20 year old man and getting a 16 year old girl to perform sex acts for him multiple times via a web cam in 2010.
The teen girl provided a victim impact statement, saying she now suffers from depression and anxiety and has given up modelling.
Paradee was the chairman of the Taber Police Commission.
